• Be clear about the clubs/leagues responsibilities when running activities for children and young people
• Help those actively involved with children and young people understand what their duty of care means on a day to day basis

The Welfare Officer acts as the first point of contact for anyone in the academy (staff, volunteers, parents or children) who has a concern about a child and about poor practice or possible abuse towards children.
